Matt Barkley To Be Bills Backup Quarterback Going Forward
6 years agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Matt Barkley signed a two-year contract extension on Friday. The transaction essentially stabilizes the team's quarterback situation going forward as the 28-year-old will remain Josh Allen's backup and mentor. Barkley, who signed with the Bills on Oct. 31, was lauded by coach Sean McDermott this week for his support of Allen. He has appeared in one game for the Bills, completing 15 of 25 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-10 Week 10 victory over the Jets. The sixth-year veteran has appeared in 12 games in his career and has posted a 2-6 record in eight starts.
