6 years agoWashington Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen will miss his first game of the season on Saturday when the team visits the Ottawa Senators. The experienced blueliner went head-first into the boards in a scary crash on Thursday against the Hurricanes. Brooks Orpik (knee) is nearing a return, but he won't be ready this weekend, so Tyler Lewington is drafted in for his second career appearance. He played 13:07 in his NHL debut against Ottawa on Dec. 22, finishing a 4-0 win with a plus-one rating, four hits, one shot and two penalty minutes.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
