Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point Lead Way In Home Win
6 years agoTampa Bay Lightning right wing Nikita Kucherov posted a goal with an assist and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 4-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Center Brayden Point added two goals with an assist, a plus-3 rating, two blocked shots and a hit across 17:49 of ice time while winning nine of his 13 faceoff chances. The big story was Kucherov, however, as he now has 21 goals and 71 points. He is the 10th player to reach 50 assists within his team's first 43 games, and it's the first time he has happened since Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr and Ron Francis each turned the trick in 1995-96. He is also the first player with 70 points within his first 43 games of the season since Jagr back in 1999-2000.
