Gus Edwards Will Likely Be RB3 To Start The Season
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards had a disappointing end to a fantastic rookie season. Edwards was limited to just 23 yards on eight carries in the AFC Wild Card playoff loss to the Chargers last week. He closed the regular season by rushing for 67 yards or more in each of his previous seven games, which included three 100-yard games. The undrafted 23-year-old finished the campaign (including the postseason) with 743 yards and two touchdowns on the ground for a robust 5.1 yards per carry average along with two receptions for 20 yards. While Edwards produced 10 or more fantasy points four times in standard league scoring, his fantasy value was hurt because he was not involved much in the Ravens' passing game and that may be an issue going forward. With the Rutgers product likely to share carries next year with Kenneth Dixon and his lack of involvement in the passing game, look for him to start next season as an RB3.
