6 years agoColorado Avalanche center Carl Soderberg notched an empty-net goal with 1:48 remaining in regulation in Monday's 6-3 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs, capping off his first-career hat trick. His first goal of the night was of the shorthanded variety, giving the team a temporary 3-2 lead, and his go-ahead goal with 8:15 left in regulation stood up as the game-winning tally. The 33-year-old Swedish pivot has posted four goals and five points over the past five outings, but he has just 15 goals and 28 points overall on the season. Despite the big game his fantasy value remains limited to deeper pools until further notice.--Daniel Dobish
