Thomas Greiss Shuts Down Visiting Wild
6 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Thomas Greiss allowed one goal on 27 shots in Sunday's 2-1 home win against the Minnesota Wild. The only mistake he made wasn't really his fault, as he allowed just a power-play goal to Mikael Granlund early in the second period on a fresh sheet of ice after Scott Mayfield's boarding minor at the end of the first. It was smooth sailing after that, and the power play goal by Devon Toews at the end of the second period ended up standing as the game-winning tally. The Islanders are back in action Tuesday night in Buffalo.
