6 years agoSan Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton posted three goals with a plus-2 rating across 14:48 of ice time over 21 shifts in Monday's 6-5 overtime loss against the Boston Bruins. It was his first hat trick since Oct. 27, 2010. He netted the three goals on just three shots, becoming just the ninth player in NHL history to have a hat trick and a shooting percentage of 100 percent. Teammate Kevin Labanc also accomplished the feat on Feb. 9 in Edmonton, and his other teammate Tomas Hertl did it on Jan. 15 against Pittsburgh. Jumbo and the Sharks are back in action Thursdays in Pittsburgh.--Daniel Dobish
