6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is back where it all started, at least where it all started in his Major League career. He went 1-for-2 with a two-run single in Friday's Cactus League spring opener against the Oakland Athletics. The 45-year-old slap hitter is trying to extend his career. Ichiro is a fan favorite, but he hit just .205 in his return to the M's in 2018. OFs Domingo Santana, Mallex Smith and Mitch Haniger are projected to be the starters, and Jay Bruce is also on the roster. At best, Ichiro lands a job as the fifth outfielder, so his plate appearances and therefore his fantasy appeal even in deeper AL-only leagues will be extremely limited.--Daniel Dobish
