Alex Ovechkin Lights Lamp For The 44th Time
6 years agoWashington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin scored his 44th goal of the season in Saturday's 5-2 road loss against the Buffalo Sabres and he finished with a plus-1 rating and a game-high eight shots on goal. Ovie also dished out five hits in the matinee affair, but unfortunately he was one of a few Caps who actually has their alarm clock go off. The 33-year-old has now scored at least one goal (six total) in five straight outings, and he has 11 goals with 19 points across the past 13 contests. It's a quick turnaround, as the Caps are back home against the New York Rangers on Sunday in a nationally-televised game at 12:30 p.m. ET.
