Christian Walker's Scorching-Hot Spring Start Continues
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker went 1-for-3 with a bases-loaded clearing double in Thursday's Cactus League spring game against the Cleveland Indians. His scorching hot spring continues, as he is now 6-for-9 (.667) with a home run, eight RBI and four runs scored through the first four games. Walker isn't going to make anyone forget about Paul Goldschmidt, but he can certainly lessen the blow by his departure with a strong start. Walker is battling Jake Lamb at first base. If the D-Backs like Walker enough, perhaps he starts at first with Lamb at third, Eduardo Escobar shifting to second and Ketel Marte in center field. But for now he is only worth considering in deeper NL-only fantasy leagues, although his value could start growing rather quickly if the torrid pace continues.
