Mitch Haniger Dealing With Some Back Stiffness
6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) was scratched from the Cactus League spring lineup Sunday. Manager Scott Servais said Haniger woke up Sunday with some minor back stiffness, and the decision was made to scratch the outfielder. He'll get two full days off with an off day in the spring schedule on Monday. It sounds like he'll be fine, and he is a Top 15 outfielder in AL-only fantasy leagues after hitting .285 with 26 homers and 93 RBI over 157 games. He loses some protection in the lineup with Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz gone, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him pitched around at times. Still, he is a stud fantasy option in most formats.
