Clayton Kershaw Throws Off Mound On Monday
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) was able to throw a 20-pitch bullpen session. He threw all fastballs, with 11 pitches from the stretch and nine from the windup. It was his first time throwing off a mound since February 20. It's a good sign that he might be ready for Opening Day, which is rapidly approaching. However, the Dodgers might want to push him back in the rotation to give him a few more days of rest before the games count for real. It wouldn't be surprising to see him start out on the 10-day injured list, either. He is a risky play for the first couple of starts, as he might have a pitch count and hard restrictions just to preserve him for the long haul.
