Frederik Andersen Falters In Showdown Versus Lightning
6 years agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen was roughed up for four goals on just 19 shots in Monday's 6-2 home loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was pulled early in the second period, replaced by Garret Sparks. The latter stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced, but the damage was done and the Maple Leafs were embarrassed on their home ice against the Atlantic Division leading Lightning, a team they hope to potentially face and knock off in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Leafs and Lightning do not look to be on the same level at this juncture.
