6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Petr Mrazek turned aside all 38 shots he faced in Monday's 3-0 road victory against the Colorado Avalanche. It was his fourth shutout of the season, and the win helped the Hurricanes pull into a tie for third place with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Metropolitan Division with Carolina holding the tiebreaker. Mrazek and Curtis McElhinney have been instrumental in the success of the Hurricanes just as much as their young and improved offense. The Hurricanes will look to stay hot Friday night in a key battle for playoff positioning in Columbus against the Blue Jackets.--Daniel Dobish
