Corey Seager Will Be Ready For The Opener
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (elbow, hip) is expected to be ready for Opening Day, manager Dave Roberts said on Sunday. "Absolutely. We expect him to play Opening Day," the skipper said. "I am (confident of that). I just think in talking to the training staff and talking to Corey himself - we've been conservative, understandably. I just don't see any reason why he wouldn't be ready for Opening Day." Seager is making his way back from reconstructive elbow surgery and left hip surgery. He is expected to play shortstop for seven innings in a minor-league game Monday and he will play in a Cactus League spring game sometime this week as he ramps up his activity. Roberts said Seager will play all three games of the Freeway spring series against the Angels, too.
