Charlie Morton Looks Sharp In Spring Outing
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Charlie Morton threw five strong innings in the Rays spring training game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. Morton used his full arsenal of pitches in this one and fired four strikeouts and allowed two walks. The 35-year-old will look to replicate his career-best 2018 season in which he posted a 15-3 record, 3.13 ERA and 28.9 percent strikeout rate. Morton has gained some zip on his fastball in each of the past three seasons, sitting at an average of 96.6 mph in 2018. He's a strong selection in all formats and is a safe selection around his 119 ADP in NFBC leagues.
