Walker Buehler Will Not Start Team's Opener
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler will not be the team's Opening Day starter, manager Dave Roberts confirmed on Tuesday. Even with Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) already ruled out and set to start on the 10-day injured list, Buehler will not draw the assignment. It appears it is likely Hyun-Jin Ryu, Rich Hill or Kenta Maeda will get the starting nod. Buehler has been brought along slowly during spring training, so this isn't a huge surprise, as the team wants to preserve him for the long haul. He is a must-have in most fantasy formats as he looks to better his 2018 numbers of 8-5 with a 2.62 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 151 strikeouts across 137 1/3 innings.
