6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Curtis McElhinney allowed just one goal on 29 shots in Sunday's 2-1 overtime victory against the Montreal Canadiens. It was an impressive victory, as the Canes picked up four points in a back-to-back situation against the Minnesota Wild and the Habs, helping keep them on track in the Eastern Conference for a spot in the postseason. The Canes haven't made the playoffs since 2009, the longest active drought in the NHL. Next up is a home-and-home set with the Washington Capitals starting Tuesday in D.C.--Daniel Dobish
