6 years agoWashington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin blasted a one-timer past Petr Mrazek in the third period of a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. He also tallied an assist on an empty-net goal by Nicklas Backstrom. Ovechkin is having another stellar season in his 14th NHL campaign. His 49 goals lead all players to go along with 37 assists, 27 power-play points, 313 shots, and 201 hits. The Russian sniper is a fantasy monster and has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon. T.J. Oshie and John Carlson also scored in the contest. The Capitals are back in action on Thursday against the same Hurricanes squad. --Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
