Mookie Betts Has Three Base Knocks In Opening Tilt
6 years agoBoston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts opened the season with a 3-for-5 performance while also scoring a run in the 12-4 loss to the Mariners on Thursday. Betts got the action started in the first for Boston, recording the team's first base knock and then coming around to score on a J.D. Martinez single. It was one of the few bright spots for an otherwise terrible day for the Sox. Betts will get to face a pair of southpaws over the remainder of the weekend with rookie Yusei Kikuchi on tap for Friday and veteran Wade LeBlanc on Sunday. Feel encouraged with the reigning AL MVP's start to the year.
