6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Matt Shoemaker went seven scoreless innings during Friday's 6-0 win over the Detroit Tigers. He allowed two hits while striking out seven batters and walking a pair. The 32-year-old could not have asked for a better debut with his new team. Shoemaker's abilities have been evident since he went 16-4 as a rookie starter in 2014. Unfortunately, injury troubles have derailed his past two seasons limiting him to just 21 starts since the beginning of 2017. If he can maintain a clean bill of health, he could be a solid depth starter in deeper mixed leagues. At the very least, Shoemaker is worthy of a pickup for next week as his next projected start comes against the lowly Baltimore Orioles.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
