6 years agoSeattle Mariners center fielder Mallex Smith had an impactful day as the team's leadoff hitter in Friday's contest versus the Red Sox. He took Nathan Eovaldi deep in the first inning and picked up a walk and a stolen base in his 1-for-3 night. Smith was also robbed of extra bases by Jackie Bradley Jr. in the third inning, but settled for a sacrifice fly on the play instead. Don't expect the power to continue much this season as he only hit two home runs in 2018, but he should finish the year as one of the league leaders in thefts after nabbing 40 a year ago.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
