6 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen is batting fifth on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers and rookie starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull. Jansen batted eighth and went hitless on Opening Day and then received the day off on Friday. In just 72 plate appearances against right-handers in 2018, Jansen had a .226 ISO and a wOBA of .344. It's a very small sample size, but the bump in lineup spot shows the Jays want to see how the rookie backstop performs in the heart of the lineup. Turnbull has just 16 1/3 career innings pitched in the bigs but has a 6.06 ERA with a .286 BABIP against righty hitters, so Jansen makes a solid contrarian DFS option in the early slate of games on Saturday.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
