6 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Hunter Strickland has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right lat strain. Strickland appeared to injure himself versus the Red Sox Friday night but stayed in the game only to give up the game-winning, three-run home run. It's unclear how long he'll be out of action but is expected to be out more than the 10-day timeframe. Anthony Swarzak will return from the injured list on Monday and may be the best option for the club to serve as the ninth-inning option. Cory Gearrin or Matthew Festa may also be in the mix for saves, but it could end up as a committee approach until Strickland returns.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
