Rick Porcello Lasts Just 2 2/3 Innings In Season Debut
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello had a bad start to 2019 on Sunday, getting through just 2 2/3 innings while allowing nine runs (four earned) on six hits while fanning three and walking four in a 10-8 loss to the Mariners. The Sox jumped out to a three-run lead in the game's first frame, but the lead only lasted two innings. An error in left field and a home run in the third gave Seattle the 5-3 advantage and they never surrendered it again. Boston's rotation has had a very rough go around in the season's opening series. However, they didn't throw many innings in spring training, so it may take a start or two each before they are ready to go. They'll try to right the ship in Oakland with four games starting Monday.
