6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale will toe the rubber against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night. His Opening Day start last Thursday went sour fast, as he went just three innings, allowed seven runs on six hits, struck out just four and walked three in a 12-4 loss to Seattle. Noticeably, his pitch speed was down around the low-90s, concerning some that he may be hurt. Manager Alex Cora has insisted the southpaw is fine and will be ready to go Tuesday and beyond. Sale has a .205 batting average against the current A's roster, however, Kendrys Morales has three career home runs with a .930 OPS against him. Regardless, Sale is a must-start in all season-long formats on the notion that he will be his normal, elite self. It's definitely worth paying attention to his velocity throughout the outing to see if it increases from Opening Day.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
