6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell went seven innings, allowing two hits, a walk and striking out 13 in his start against the Rockies on Tuesday. It's always good to see your ace follow up a clunker with an absolutely brilliant start. He had said in his first start he was leaning on his fastball and curveball too much. He proceeded to throw 36 fastballs, 28 curveballs, 22 changeups and 16 sliders on Tuesday. We saw how dominant Snell was last year and with this pitch mix, there was no reason to think his first start would be the norm. Don't hesitate to start him against any lineup going forward. He lines up for a plus-matchup this Sunday at San Francisco.--Zach Alexander
