Jordan Lyles Throws Five Scoreless Innings In Debut
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jordan Lyles impressed in his debut with his new team. The 28-year-old went five innings, allowing no runs on just three hits, three walks and two strikeouts as the Pirates eventually won 2-0. As the team's fifth starter, Lyles did exactly what they had hoped for; keep the team in the game and give them a chance to win. While his numbers aren't great for fantasy purposes, Lyles was seen as anything but a usable fantasy piece coming into the year. If everything stays on schedule, Lyles will toe the rubber next on the road against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. If he can continue to replicate similar performances to his Pirates debut, he may begin having his name thrown around for NL-only formats.
