6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (shoulder) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 lat strain and will be shut down for at least six more weeks, reports James Wagner of The New York Times. According to the team, this injury developed over the course of Severino's recent throwing program. He felt discomfort, so the team sent him for an MRI. The 25-year-old didn't play in a spring training game and began the year on the injured list due to rotator-cuff inflammation in his throwing arm. Granted he stays on the listed timetable, including a buildup and rehab assignment, it's likely that June is the earliest Severino is back with the Yankees. This is a tough blow for the team and fantasy owners that were hoping the budding star would be back by May.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
