6 years agoThe Detroit Tigers were rained out on Monday against the Boston Red Sox and will play a day-night doubleheader on Tuesday instead. Tabbed to start Game 1 of the set is starting pitcher Matthew Boyd, who is 1-1 with a 2.96 ERA to start the year with 36 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings of work. In the nightcap, rookie Spencer Turnbull takes the bump looking to build on what has been a nice start to the season. Despite his 0-2 record, Turnbull has a 3.20 FIP and a strikeout rate of 10.29 K/9. Given the struggles of the Red Sox offense thus far, neither of these pitchers would be a bad bet for Tuesday.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
