6 years agoSan Diego Padres pitching prospect Anderson Espinoza (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on Monday. The injury setback is a terrible break for the Padres No. 13 prospect, who will now need to rehabilitate from a second consecutive Tommy John surgery. Espinoza was acquired from the Boston Red Sox three years ago for current San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz and hasn’t thrown in live action since 2016. Espinoza is still just 21 years old, so a comeback is possible, but this is awful news nonetheless for the young fireballer.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
