6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts finished the doubleheader against the Tigers batting 1-for-6 with two runs batted in and three walks. While the Sox dropped both games, Betts was certainly trying to spark the struggling lineup. He got Boston an early lead in Game 1 with a two-RBI single in the third frame. In Game 2, he walked three times but did not register a base knock. Betts is batting just .239 through 24 games with four home runs and 10 RBI. He was riding a modest four-game hitting streak into Game 2 of the double dip but has yet to truly defend his American League MVP from a season ago. He'll get Tyson Ross and Jordan Zimmermann in the final two games against Detroit and while they're both right-handers, they're easily exploitable for a player of Betts' caliber.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
