Maikel Franco Collects Two Hits Against Mets
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco had two hits Tuesday night in an otherwise quiet night offensively for his team. Franco is hitting for average and power early this season with a .275 average and a .563 slugging percentage. Most impressive has been his plate discipline, as he's only struck out seven times compared to 13 walks. Franco has been hitting the ball in the air more with a career-high 43.2 percent fly-ball percentage in the early going this season. A fly-ball hitter with plus plate discipline is a recipe for fantasy success. If Franco is still available, now may be the time to add him, especially if Phillies manager Gabe Kapler keeps Franco batting fifth as opposed to eighth where he started the season.
