Mike Zunino Homers In Second Straight Game
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Mike Zunino hit his second home run of the season on Tuesday against the Royals. It was also his second in the past two games. Zunino hadn’t showed his power until he missed some time for the birth of his son Rhett over the weekend. Rays teammates have claimed this phenomenon as “new dad strength,” and fantasy owners will hope that it continues. Zunino is now hitting .246/.283/.474 and is a solid option at catcher, as he’s hit 20 or more home runs in the past two seasons. It is likely that his average will rest somewhere between .200 and .250, but at 37 percent ownership in Yahoo leagues, he could be a cheap source of power at the most shallow position.
