6 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez finished with just one hit but drove in two in a win over Oakland on Monday. It was Martinez's first multi-RBI game since he drove in four on March 31. The 31-year-old had an RBI single in the third before a sacrifice fly drove in another in the eighth. He's quietly put together a solid year thus far, slashing .337/.414/.515 with four home runs and 15 RBI. Whether playing the outfield or being the DH, Martinez is a safe bet in either the three or four spot as Boston continues to try and climb out of their early-season funk. In the final two games with Oakland, Boston faces off with right-handers Aaron Brooks and Mike Fiers, whom Martinez should have no troubles against.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
