6 years agoPittsburgh Pirate starting pitcher Jordan Lyles made it through four innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five and walking four in a 6-4 win over the Rangers. Including Tuesday, Lyles' previous two starts were less than ideal. However, his fifth start on Tuesday was the first that his command truly suffered, as he had allowed just five walks total through his first four starts. It didn't help matters that the offense didn't give him any run support, leaving him on the hook when leaving the game. Ultimately, 54 strikes in 96 pitches is a tell-all in the outing. He'll need to be more efficient in his next turn on Sunday, facing off against the Oakland A's.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
