6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe was named the American League Rookie of the Month and hit a go-ahead home run on Thursday. Lowe has been slightly overshadowed by the recent call-up of his new teammate, Nathaniel Lowe. Brandon has taken ahold of his opportunity to play every day, evidenced by a slash line of .304/.357/.588 with seven homers and three stolen bases through the first month of the season. His second base and outfield eligibility in Yahoo leagues also gives him nice versatility for fantasy lineups. With Joey Wendle back on the injured list, there’s no reason to think Lowe won’t continue to play and produce. He’s currently owned in 66 percent of fantasy leagues. If he’s available in your league, he won’t be for long. A weekend at Camden Yards should easily push him over 70 percent ownership. Act fast.--Zach Alexander
