6 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds optioned outfielder Scott Schebler to Triple-A on Saturday. Schebler, who stood to see a big dent put in his playing time with the promotion of Nick Senzel, will look to get his season on track in the minors. The outfielder struggled at the plate this season, hitting just .123 with 27 strikeouts in 81 at-bats. The stay in the minors may not last long as team president Dick Williams told reporters that they expect to see Schebler back in the majors soon. The team also recalled left-hander Cody Reed to help shore up their bullpen after using their relievers extensively over the past few games. Reed had a 3.21 ERA in at Triple-A Louisville this season.--Matt T - RotoBaller
