Brandon Lowe Hits Eighth Homer
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe hit his eighth home run in the Rays win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He finished the day 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. This brings his season numbers up to .311/.366/.597 with eight home runs and three stolen bases. Lowe has been one of the most consistent hitters for the Rays this year and doesn’t have much risk of losing any playing time. The only concern with Lowe is his high strikeout rate of 31.3 percent, which may point to some batting average regression. However, he’s still hitting the ball hard and is in a great spot to produce counting stats in this Rays lineup. If he isn’t owned in your league, he’s a must-add. He’ll get another game against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday and then the weekend at home against the Yankees. New York isn’t boasting a ton of strong arms at the moment, so Lowe should be in lineups.
