6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies placed starter Vince Velasquez on the IL Saturday with a right forearm strain. The right-hander was enjoying a decent season after a disastrous 2018 campaign currently holding a 3.86 ERA, 1.35 WHIP with a 1-2 record on the year. His control remains an issue and has limited him all season from going deep into games, but he has a dynamic strikeout arm that is stream-worthy. Velasquez was slated to take the hill Sunday as the team called up Austin Davis from Triple-A to take his place on the roster.
