6 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks have activated catcher Alex Avila of the injured list prior to Saturday's game versus the Braves. Avila rejoins a crowded catching depth chart with Carson Kelly, Blake Swihart, and John Ryan Murphy, but he should still find some playing time behind the dish and the occasional start at first base. Across six games Avila has a .333 batting average with a pair of home runs after a miserable 2018 where he hit .168. Avila and the rest of the D'Back catchers should only be looked at in NL-only formats as a desperation play.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
