Tyler Mahle Strikes Out Eight In No-Decision
6 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle gave up four runs in 6 1/3 innings of work in a 6-5 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Mahle gave up two runs in the first inning, cruised through the next five frames, and then coughed up another two runs in the seventh. He did manage to strike out eight batters in the contest. Overall, he has a 0-5 record, 3.97 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 49 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings of work. While it would be nice to see him win a few games, Mahle contributes enough in the other categories to be worth using, especially in deeper and NL-only formats. He lines up to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in his next start.
