6 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon had a good night at the plate Friday going 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Both hits went for singles as he scored the team’s only run of the game in a 7-1 loss. Gordon’s steal was his 12th of the year, which ties him for third in the majors, and he’s now batting a crisp .301 on the year. Gordon missed the last handful of games with a wrist injury earlier this week, but has since returned to bat leadoff for the M’s which undoubtedly boosts his value. If Mallex Smith continues to struggle, Gordon could remain in this spot in the order giving him more opportunities to steal bases and score runs. The speedster will also remain an asset for batting average and is one of the safer speed threats in baseball.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
