6 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz hit in the cage on Tuesday and plans to participate in batting practice on Wednesday as he recovers from a wrist injury. Cruz has been out of action since May 14 and is hoping to return to the lineup when first eligible this Friday. The veteran slugger has seven homers and 22 RBI in his first year in Minnesota, numbers a bit lower than what fantasy owners had hoped. He's struck out a lot more this season with a 27.8% K-rate as his bat may finally be showing some age. Don't expect Cruz to fizzle out completely this season, however, as he will still be a valuable asset in the power department in all formats.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
