BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Things never seem to go as expected with the New York Yankees lineup (as there would be no story lines to be had), and due to some ongoing complications such as Giancarlo Stanton's injury setbacks, Clint Frazier's spot in the outfield appears to be safe that much longer. The 24-year old former highly-touted prospect has continued to build off his previous work at the major league level in 2019, going for nine home runs and a slash of .258/.289/.517 in 120 AB through his third campaign in pinstripes. As he is going to be remaining in the batting order for the immediate future, he thankfully has a plate approach that is well tailored to play in hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium.
His plate discipline has been poor with a 26.6% strikeout rate and 4.7% walk rate. While his hard contact has been down a bit, it is still solid at 35.2%, and he has been applying very little soft contact (14.8%) to pitches catching a lot of air at a 0.94 GB/FB ratio. "Red Thunder" may not swipe bags or reach base with consistency at the moment, but he has continued to make the most out of his contact to the tune of a .258 ISO, and that slugging has made the Yankees a bit more patient in Stanton's timetable for return. While the window of opportunity has been extended, reap the benefits of Clint Frazier taking air.
