6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez lasted six innings, allowing just one run, on four hits, while striking out five, and walking just one in a 4-1 win over Houston Sunday. The southpaw threw 63 of 98 pitches for strikes, with just eight swinging strikes. The Astros lineup is missing some of their stars, but Rodriguez did a great job ensuring the Sox didn't get swept. The 26-year-old has now struck out at least five in 10 of his 11 starts, and a 3.57 FIP points that he's pitching much better than his 5.04 ERA shows. It seems that a string of bad outings will continue to haunt him throughout the season, but if he can throw like he did Sunday, he should provide plenty of value in, especially in points leagues. He'll get the Yankees, on the road, Friday where he'll hope to keep the ball in the park and keep giving the Sox a chance to win.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
