6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka had a rough start Monday vs the Padres giving up five runs, four earned, in six innings pitched. The game started with an error behind Tanaka who promptly served up back-to-back singles followed by a three-run homer by Eric Hosmer to put four runs on the board before an out was recorded. Tanaka settled down after that only allowing two more runs in six innings but the damage was done. Despite the rough outing, Tanaka has completed at least six innings in five straight starts and has his home run to fly ball rate at a career-best 13.3 percent. He'll carry a 3.20 ERA into a great matchup at Toronto next Monday.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
