5 years agoOakland Athletics prospect Jorge Mateo went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI on Wednesday for Triple-A Las Vegas. The strong outing now raises Mateo’s average to .332 with seven home runs, 41 RBI and 13 stolen bases. Mateo dropped off most top prospect lists last season, but has climbed his way back up the ladder with a very strong season thus far. Mateo, 23, is a good contact hitter and a very good runner and can chip in with a little power. Mateo has a good shot to crack the Athletics Roster at some point in 2019. Mateo will be worth monitoring if he gets everyday at-bats for the Athletics in 2019.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
