5 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners made the Jay Bruce deal official Sunday as the M's will send the 33-year-old veteran to the NL. Bruce will travel to San Diego and join the Phil's squad there as the team opens up a three-game set against the Padres Monday. Bruce figures to see regular at-bats with his new team likely taking over in left field with the odd start at first base. The move is a boost to his fantasy value after hitting 14 homers and 28 RBI through 47 games with the M's this season. An upgrade in lineup and ballpark will hopefully help him improve on his .212 average while his counting stats should continue to climb. Bruce is now a must add in NL-only leagues and should be scooped off waivers in deep mixed leagues where available.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
