6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Nick Pivetta had another encouraging outing Sunday at the Dodgers. Pivetta scattered three hits over six innings without walking a batter and striking out nine. He's now struck out 15 batters in 11 innings since being recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Pivetta is finally showing some of the signs that made him such a popular breakout pick this Spring. In 2018, he had a 33.1 percent strikeout rate with a 3.80 FIP. After the way he started the season, it'll be hard to trust Pivetta, but he has upside that can't be ignored. He's worth a speculative add in every league, especially a good matchup next time out vs the Reds who have the fifth-worst team average vs right-handed pitching.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
